hey Queen, I’m Megan!
Hey there! I’m Megan Henderson, the creative force and founder of Southern Scribble. If you’re here, it means you’re ready to make your brand as radiant and boujee as you are, and I couldn’t be more excited to help you shine.
My Journey
My adventure into the world of design and marketing began with a love for vibrant colors and a knack for creativity. Growing up, I was the kid with the most colorful block letters in class, thanks to a treasured book my art teacher gave me when my parents divorced and I had to leave my elementary school. Creativity was my escape and my joy, and that passion has only grown stronger over the years.
Fast forward to 2020, I found myself managing seven companies for my boss, running my husband’s business, and barely scraping by with just $6 in our bank account. My creative heart was stifled, and I was burned out from dedicating all my energy to everyone else's dreams but my own.
In March of that year, I took a leap of faith and started Southern Scribble, while still working full-time. But it wasn't until the birth of my daughter Memphis in June 2021 that everything truly changed. By September, I was diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety, which left me drained and burned out. I knew something had to give. I made the brave decision to leave my full-time job and fully commit to my passion.
With my husband's encouragement, we turned our last $6 into the start of something beautiful. We sold hand-lettered mugs from our kitchen, and little by little, I built Southern Scribble into the vibrant brand it is today. I transitioned from offering inventory products to professional branding and website design services, immersing myself in self-education and workshops to grow my skills.
Why I Do What I Do
From the very beginning, my mission has been clear: to empower women entrepreneurs and give them the tools they need to succeed. I believe that every woman has a unique story to tell and that their brand should reflect their individuality and passion. At Southern Scribble, we do things differently. We provide professional, radiant branding that empowers our clients. We give them the keys to drive their own brand, ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to make their vision a reality.
In my industry, I've seen too many Canva-made logos and surface-level branding with no depth or meaning. It breaks my heart to see people get ghosted by designers, invest significant money with no communication, or struggle with the final product because they don't know how to make changes. At Southern Scribble, we do things differently. We provide professional, radiant branding that empowers our clients. We give them the keys to drive their own brand instead of taking an Uber, ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to make their vision a reality.
My Core Values
Family, connection, women empowerment, God, authenticity, peace, joy, healing, bright colors, and sparkle are at the heart of everything I do. When I work with clients, I bring my whole self to the table, sharing my personal journey and the lessons I've learned along the way. I believe in creating a genuine connection with my clients, understanding their needs, and helping them achieve their goals.
A Personal Connection
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my work is seeing the transformation in my clients. I love sharing stories about my daughter and husband on social media, showing the world that behind the vibrant designs and professional branding is a real person who cares deeply about family and connection. My goal is to show other women that their big dreams matter and that with ambition and determination, anything is possible.
Looking Ahead
As I continue to grow Southern Scribble, my vision is to expand my reach and impact. We plan to hire more female designers to further support our clients. My mission is to help creative women realize their potential and start their dreams, just as I did.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. Together, we can create a world where every woman's brand shines brightly, radiating joy, and empowerment.
